Module 4

FINALIST THEORIES

How often do you make an effort to practice your strengths and virtues? (A virtue is a trait you cultivate. Ex: patience, generosity kindness). Are these traits key to a happy life?

I often make an effort practicing my strength and virtues, as long as I can do it and as long as I can give it, why not do it, right? I am doing my very best to be generous to mankind as long as I have, to be kind to all the people but human as we are, we can’t do things perfectly, I am trying to be patient all the time but there are times that I already lose my temper. We all have limitations and boundaries. And also most of the time I'm trying to be friendly to all my neighbors.
These some traits are really the key to a happy life. You can find true happiness by helping other people, giving them what they don’t have but you have these things more than what you need. Being kind and loving to each other will bring peace to the world and people will not do any crime, trouble, problem and danger to mankind and everybody will be happy and live with harmony and serenity in life.

For some, happiness relies on money. In some cases, hacking means money. Would you do hacking it if its outcome is a sure happiness of your family? What particular Aristotle theory contradicts this concept?

Hacking is a sin with regards to computer ethics and also to the ten commandments of God for it is also a form of stealing. I will not hack someone’s work just to have that big money, there are many ways to earn money as long as you are not violating the law and you are not harming other people.  You cannot find true happiness if you felt some guiltiness in yourself or maybe you are happy but how about the other person you have hacked with. Is he happy?  This situation is contradicted to Aristotle Nicomachean Ethics, “Happiness is not pleasure, nor is it virtue. It is the exercise of virtue.” Money make you happy, money can give what you want, any material things, you can find pleasure but if your way of getting much money is not good and it is against the law, you cannot feel real happiness in your life. Happiness is the exercise of virtue and this means true and great happiness will be experience with the exercise of good value and good worth with your actions.
